Essential Textile Art began in 2006, originally in Adelaide, Australia, and now resides in Brisbane, Australia. I offer free post Australia wide and will ship world wide via Australia Post for international orders at cost. Over the years I have stocked a variety of materials for Textile Artists and in 2016 decided to focus on painting fabric. This marries well with my own arts practice of painting with acrylics on a number of surfaces. Also in 2016 I decided to bring my store page and artist page together in one place to make life a little easier. Please like my Facebook page for the store (top, righthand side of this page is a link) and my artist page at https://www.facebook.com/susanpietschart .

Susan Pietsch (pronounced peach) is a Visual Artist currently living and practicing in Brisbane, Australia. Originally training and working as an architect, Susan turned her attention to working full time as an artist in 2006 as well as launching her art supplies business Essential Textile Art. From working predominately in textiles in the beginning, she now favours a more mixed media approach that sees painting taking a more dominant place in her work. Susan has exhibited in both Adelaide, South Australia and Brisbane, Queensland.

Approach

Susan’s work is based around narrative – the story comes first, telling her what to create. She works in a range of materials, from acrylics to textiles, to achieve the result she wants.
